CLEVE JONES TO SPEAK AT RED RIBBON BALL

Cleve Jones, the man Sean Penn praised in his Academy Award acceptance speech for the film MILK, will be the guest speaker at this year’s Red Ribbon Ball hosted by the Southern Colorado AIDS Project (S-CAP) on Saturday, May 2.

The event will be held at The Broadmoor Resort in the Rocky Mountain Ballroom located at 1 Lake Circle in Colorado Springs. Cocktails, along with a silent auction, begin at 6:00 p.m., dinner will be served at 7:00 p.m. and Jones will speak at 8:00 p.m.

Jones, who has spent decades as an HIV/AIDS activist, author and speaker, is perhaps best known for founding the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt. Special sections of the quilt will be on display at the event.

The funds raised at this event will allow S-CAP to continue to create awareness, educate the public, offer information about prevention and provide a multitude of services to those infected or affected by HIV/AIDS.
