Colorado Springs Recreation Center Grand Opening

Colorado Springs Swim School to Open the
Colorado Springs Recreation Center
Grand Opening Set for September 18, 2010

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – The Colorado Springs Swim School (CSSS) is pleased to announce their Grand Opening of the Colorado Springs Recreation Center (formerly the Aquatic and Fitness Center) on Saturday, September 18. In advance of the Grand Opening, an Open House will be held on Monday, September 13 and Tuesday, September 14 between the hours of 10:00am-1:00pm and 5:30-7:30pm. The Recreation Center is ideally located in beautiful Memorial Park at 280 S. Union Blvd.

The Recreation Center is one of three City facilities CSSS saved from closure due to City budget cuts. As part of an agreement with the City of Colorado Springs, the Colorado Springs Swim School also took over management of Wilson Ranch Pool and Portal Pool, which were also scheduled to be closed due to City budget cuts.

With a warm water pool ideal for hosting Learn-to-Swim lessons, aquatic fitness programs and aqua therapy, to a 10,000 square foot dry-land fitness area geared towards total body fitness, the Recreation Center will meet the needs of young and old alike.

“We’ve had a wonderful summer with the two outdoor facilities and now with summer coming to an end it’s time to shift the focus indoors,” stated CSSS owner Tina Dessart. “We are extremely excited to open the Recreation Center for the community to enjoy programming and services geared towards overall health and wellness.”

Open to the public for both daily entry and memberships, users of the Recreation Center will find many of the activities taking place at the facility geared towards developing independent exercise routines, with monthly health and wellness themes, and clinics ranging from fitness and nutrition to diabetes and sun safety.
