The study is based on responses from 2,981 consumers measuring nine moving companies and it measures opinions of consumers who used a full-service moving company April 2007 to July 2008. Two Men and A Truck was founded over 20 years ago in Grand Rapids, Michigan by Mary Ellen Sheets. Initially, it was just a part-time job for her two sons. When they left for college, she invested $350 in an old truck and hired a couple of workers as she continued to field calls for moving service. That $350 investment has grown to over 200 locations worldwide with over 1,300 trucks on the road. They are now the largest franchised, local moving company in the nation.
