LiveWell Fountain Hosts Dan Burden of Walkable Communities

LiveWell Fountain will be hosting Dan Burden of Walkable Communities on November 21 & 22.

On Friday, November 21st, LiveWell Fountain plans to take Mr. Burden on a bus tour of the City of Fountain. The next morning of Saturday, November 22, we invite the community to attend the presentation by Mr. Burden that highlights planning our growth working with our “bones” and what already exists. This will be a “what it is” and “what it could be” presentation. This touches on transportation and land use, traffic, emergency response, pedestrian and cycling safety, safe routes to school and active community environment planning. Walkable communities has placed community environments back on a scale for sustainability of resources (both natural and economic) and lead to more social interaction, physical fitness and diminished crime and other social problems.. Walkable communities are more liveable communities and lead to whole, happy, healthy lives for the people who live in them. Please join us on Saturday, November 22th for this presentation. Register before November 17th by calling 382-7837. Register early- space is limited. This is a free event but you must register.

LiveWell Fountain is a grant-funded initiative that seeks to improve community health by implementing strategies that support healthy eating and active living.
