Colorado Springs Realtist Association is a local chapter of NAREB® The National Association of Real Estate Brokers. NAREB® is a national nonprofit organization comprised primarily of African American professionals in real estate and several other affiliated industries. The national goal is to bring together the nation’s minority professionals to promote the meaningful exchange of ideas about our business and how best to serve our clientele. Our membership includes residential and commercial real estate sales agents and brokers, loan officers and mortgage brokers, title companies, appraisers, insurance agents, CPA’s , developers and more.
The members are called "REALTISTS®", a term which incorporates the many disciplines we represent. Although comprised principally of African Americans, the REALTIST® organization embraces all qualified real estate practitioners and affiliates who are committed to achieving the ideals of our vision, which is "Democracy in Housing".
NAREB® is the oldest and largest minority trade association in America; the organization was founded in 1947out of the need for equal opportunity in housing. Civil development and economic growth of the African American community have been at the forefront of the organization since its inception. NAREB® has grown to over 80 chapters across the United States.
Colorado Springs Realtist Association was founded May 2009. The CSRA members have a great foundation to build on, NAREB® offers several benefits for members including technical training and continued educational opportunities that are available to our entire membership across the many disciplines we represent. Having the knowledge and ability to professionally service our client base is the foundation by which we operate our members are elevating the standards of conduct of their professions and creating better relations among one another and with the general public, and focusing their professional practices on a common goal and vision achieving economic growth of the African American community.
NAREB® offers members an opportunity to network in the community and across America, build alliances, partnerships and relationships that can help members obtain and retain production and success by increasing the awareness of their products and services. A directory of CSRA members will soon be available for the community.
The CSRA members are aware of the challenges local minority owned small businesses face. CSRA is extending our networking efforts to our local entrupenures; our directory will include an area for those businesses.
CSRA will be a valuable resource for our local citizens. In addition to various communities outreach programs CSRA will provide access to reliable information and services for low and moderate income groups as well as any other interested community member. Our members will offer educational seminars and workshops with a wide range of topics covering financial literacy, real estate, mortgages, insurance & career building. Workshops specifically for our elderly and youth in the community will also be offered.
NAREB’s Young Realtist Division was created to encourage young minorities to pursue higher education, college students with a major that is affiliated to a profession or service that our organization offers, are eligible to become members .Each year on the anniversary of our local chapter, CSRA will award one young college student with a one year membership in our organization which will give them national exposure and will begin what we hope will be a lifetime of community service.
The founding members of The Colorado Springs Realtist Associations will hold their first instillation ceremony as a new local chapter of NAREB® on June 26, 2009. This event will celebrate the beginning of this network of minority professionals and welcome its new officers, members and board of directors to Colorado Springs. Our regional Vice President from the Sacramento CA chapter of NAREB® will be our honored guest speaker.
We welcome the community to come and celebrate this historical event in the Colorado Springs African American community. Tickets are available. Please do not wait to get your tickets, seating is limited.
CSRA’s first community event will be a school supply drive. If you would like to donate, call or email for a list of drop off locations. For those attending our upcoming ceremony there will be a drop box on site.
If any local small businesses would like to participate by allowing a drop box please contact CSRA.
