Business and Education Talent Readiness Project Helps Teachers Gain a Greater Understanding of Business Needs
December 11, 2008, Colorado Springs, CO ¾ The Business and Education Talent Readiness Project (BETR) today announce its Tuesday Tours lineup for 2009.
Tuesday Tours helps teachers, counselors, and administrative staff, in pre-kindergarten through college classrooms, forge connections with businesses and learn about the real-world needs of business for certain skill sets.
Teachers who participate in Tuesday Tours may earn graduate credit from Colorado State University and will:
· Understand the tasks workers are expected to perform in various types of business,
· Identify skills which employers need now and in the future,
· Understand how math, science, communications, social skills, and technical applications are used in business and needed by students to succeed, and
· Establish ongoing communication between other teachers, students and business.
The Tuesday Tours are 90-minutes long, starting at 3:30 pm., on January 20, 2009, February 17, 2009, March 17, 2009, April 21, 2009, and May 19, 2009.
