Colorado Springs, Colo. (April 27, 2010) – Today, Ent Federal Credit Union awarded eleven regional organizations its Youth Endowment Series (YES) program grants for 2010.
The recipient agencies are:

Introduced in 2000, the YES program directs specific support to organizations benefiting children and young people in the Pikes Peak Region and in and around Pueblo, Denver and Weld Counties. The program has provided total grants of nearly $475,000 to agencies serving education, health care, and cultural needs, among other services.
Sixty Pikes Peak area non-profit (501(c)(3)) organizations applied for the 2010 grants; applications were evaluated on past and projected benefit to the community, potential ability to use the Ent grant to obtain additional funds and degree of current community support, among other criteria.

ENT CELEBRATES GRAND OPENING OF NEW FALCON SERVICE CENTER
Ent’s relocated, new and improved service center at 7520 Bierstadt Heights near the corner of McLaughlin Road and Woodmen Road, is now open for business. On April 24 from 9 a.m. to noon, Ent will be celebrating its grand opening with a full slate of activities for the entire family.
Attendees will have a chance to win two-for-one $20s in the lobby ATM and participate in a drawing to win one year’s rent paid by Ent on a 3” x 10” biometric safe box, a keyless "self-service" box that requires fingerprint authentication for entry.

Eligibility requirements must be met. Limited internships are available. Applications will be accept on a first-come, first-served basis through April 21, 2010

FutureSelf moves to downtown Colorado Springs
Local Youth-Serving Non-Profit FutureSelf Joins the Business Community Downtown
FutureSelf, a local non-profit serving youth, ages 12 to 24 through arts education, career-readiness and micro-enterprise has moved behind the Colorado Springs Independent at 214 E. Vermijo Ave. In our new location we will provide art workshops, training and open studio for young people after-school and on the weekends, while offering the wider community opportunities to view and purchase exhibited work or commission artists for specific creative projects.
We are introducing ourselves to our downtown neighbors and the rest of the Pikes Peak region with an open house on Saturday, April 24 from 1 to 5 pm and 7 to 10 pm. During the day we will welcome guests with beverages, picnic-type food, furniture, birdhouses, youth art, garden art, film screenings and other
surprises. The evening will bring more of the same, along with the blues stylings of local artist-extraordinaire Grant Sabin and special delectable treats from Coquette Creperie, other local restaurants and adult beverages provided by Bristol Brewery!
Since its first art workshop in 2000, FutureSelf has been providing the transformational power of the creative process to youth who may not have access to exploratory, safe risk-taking experiences, positive peer and adult mentoring or simply a place to belong. Although open to every young person 12 – 24 years of age, many of the youth FutureSelf works with are low-income youth from the Pikes Peak region. Our mission is to invite transformation through the arts. We believe that every young person has the capacity and desire to do well, and we use art to bring out this potential. Our tools are passion, talent and youthful vision. Our outcomes are motivated young people who are set on a path to post-secondary education, entrepreneurial ventures and future careers that positively contribute to the world around them.

KidLead Program come to Colorado Springs, April 23, 2010
Peek your head into Colorado Springs' Center for Creative Leadership's executive training programs and you'll see that most of the corporate participants are between the ages of 30-55.
But a very unique program is coming to Colorado Springs called KidLead. The brain child of leadership development specialist, Dr. Alan E. Nelson. KidLead is a non-profit that has age-sized executive training to ages 10-13. In addition to 50 hours of concentrated, active learning curriculum, taught by certified trainers, KidLead has designed the first leadership aptitude assessment that adults can take on children as young as 3 years of age.
Dr. Nelson, who lives in Monterey, CA, is the author of "KidLead: Growing Great Leaders" and will be facilitating a live preview of their program on Fri., April 23, 10-11AM at Woodmen Valley Chapel. The public is invited to observe. Students from a
pilot program in Benjamin-Eaton public school will be demonstrating the curriculum.

Box City - Inspiring Tomorrow's Builders and Designers
Colorado Industrial Packaging is proud to sponsor Colorado Springs' Box City for Kids. Colorado Industrial Packaging is partnering with The American Institute of Architects for Colorado Architecture Month, a month-long celebration of Colorado architecture and design. There are several free events and educational opportunities for the public, including the ever-popular Box City for Kids event.
